Lucas Handy | Founder

Lucas Handy graduated from BYUI in Business. Then mastered in Public Administration. He studied businesses, government entities, and non-profits.

After nine years of running the digital presence for Madison Health, which includes a local hospital and clinics, Lucas decided to open up his own marketing agency and help businesses reach their goals through data-backed business strategy and development.

Zuggeyly Mendoza | Marketing Coordinator

Hi, I am Handy Optimal’s Marketing Coordinator and love what I do here. Connecting on a personal level is what I aspire to do on digital platforms and with my day to day interactions. When I am not connecting, I am creating digitally with tools that are changing the marketing world minute by minute.

I hold a Bachelors degree in Communications and specialize in branding, content creation and business development.

In my spare time you can find me road tripping, running, or involved in a community event.

Michael Hockman | Google Ads/ Email Marketer

Hey there! I’m currently studying business at Brigham Young University-Idaho. My journey into the business world started when my parents bought Idaho Custom Lifts and Elevators, an elevator company that services the northwest. Watching them navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship really inspired me to dive into the business field myself.
When I’m not hitting the books, you’ll often find me in a game of Dungeons and Dragons. I love storytelling, which naturally steered me towards a passion for marketing, where I could tell the stories of businesses and the individual behind them.
For me, marketing isn’t just a job—it’s about crafting stories that resonate and creating meaningful connections. I feel that marketing is the most human of the business sciences.
It requires us to think more about who we are talking to, respect them, and speak their language. Whether I’m working on a campaign or studying a target market, I love engaging with different perspectives.

Gretchen Nygaard | Digital Marketing Specialist

My name is Gretchen, and I was born for the outdoors. If you were to mention anything from collecting flowers and rocks to backpacking or mountain biking, I would be 100% ready to come along. I love my family more than anything else. I can often be found doing random things with my siblings.

I recently got married and I have the best of times going on adventures with him. One of my passions is writing. I hope to become a published author soon and have a couple books I’m working on. In the meanwhile, Handy optimal gives me plenty of copywriting opportunities for blogs, websites, emails, and social media posts.

Along with this, I also create video content. I think that telling stories through film-making is so magical, and I am trying to learn as much as I can about it. I will soon have my degree in creative writing, film, and digital marketing, and I’m excited to see where that takes me!

Caleb Dowdle | SEO & Creative Director

I am Caleb Dowdle. I have a passion for visuals in business. I have operated my own channel as a side hustle. I also love to illustrate and sketch as a hobby. I used to be in theater and performed with Casey Likes.

I like to sing tenor in barber shop. I also like to experiment with voice acting as well. I also love to cook.

I like to experiment with the few ingredients that I have to make something taste great. I have a mean air fryer seasoned fries recipe.
